World Bellyboarding Championship 2024

Sixteenth Bellyboard World Championships: Back in Newquay!

We were thrilled to host the sixteenth Bellyboard World Championships after a five-year break! The last event in 2019 was at Perranporth, and it was time to bring it back—this time to Newquay! Our focus was on community involvement and ensuring fun for all competitors.

With over 200 entrants across seven divisions, we ran heats and finals to crown the true world champion. We also introduced a popular flippers-on 'Expression Session' that was a blast to watch.

Great Western Beach delivered perfect 3ft clean waves on Sunday, making it an ideal location for the event. With high tide coinciding with the finals, the action was up close and personal for spectators.

A huge thank you to Newquay Boardriders, the judges, and Great Western Beach for hosting such a smooth competition. All proceeds from the day will support the Newquay Boardriders Club and help grow the local surfing community.

Roll on 2025!

And a massive thanks to all the photographers that took these amazing shots! Images on this page shot by Nathan Benham. Find him online here
