Contest Criteria
- Each wave will be scored on a scale of 0.1 – 10, with 10 being a perfect score.
- Judges will be looking for – Barrels (Green cover ups), Manoeuvres (Barrel rolls, top turns, board slides, change of direction), Length of ride Style, Panache, Flow, Speed and Stoke!
- Please Check-In with the Beach Marshall before your heat and to pick up your coloured cap.
- 10 Minute Heats with Max 20 Waves (top 2 waves scored)
- Party waves can be fun but please no deliberate drop ins if another person is on a great wave which will significantly impact the overall score.
- Adult Boards should be roughly 4ft x 1ft and made of wood!
- Riding without a wetsuit is encouraged!
- TIMING DISC: Green Paddle out. Heat has begun and is in progress.
Red for the last 5 Minutes of the heat.
No Disc heat over. The next heat is about to begin. - RASH VESTS: Collect your rash vest from the Beach Marshall shortly
prior to your heat. You must wear your heat vest the correct way round
and keep your vest on during your entire heat whilst in the water.
Food & Drink: The Great Western Beach Complex will be open from 8.00 in the morning and all day, providing great food and drink.
