Small dings on back of board from photoshoot!

New for 2024! We've been working on this combination of materials for a year or so now... lightweight, great flex and feels amazing in the pocket!

Our new favourite board!

Words by the shaper:

"A tried & tested formula we've been experimenting with over the last few months.

The aim of the board was to create a product with more lift & speed than our classic Surfrider. Aimed at riding open faced waves / green waves.

The board features a Belly entry into a single concave, with rolled rails out of the tail. The design features inspiration from a traditional Alaia's Bottom Contours.

The belly entry gives the user a more connected feel to the face of the wave and it allows & creates a space on the deck where your chest neatly fits in.

The single concave creates an air pocket under the board which creates lift which equates to extra speed.

The rolled rails help to stop the edges from catching the water and the subtle curves create more hold."

Why we love wood!

Each and every bellyboard we make is unique! Bellyboards are made from wood and will have natural characteristics - they are not 'perfectly' formed.

We love the unique nature of wood - each board has its own textures, grain and marks. It's what we love about wood. Each board is made from sustainably sourced FSC accredited timber.

All our boards are different and have individual characteristics. Open knots in the wood have been repaired with wooden plugs, and nose curves will vary. Wood grain will be visible.

If you have any preference on grain, knots, bend etc. then please let us know before you order! We'll aim to send out a board to suit your preference.

Or drop by our shop at the Yard and pick your own board!

Finish & Care

Post surf - The boards should be stored in a dry environment when not in the water. Store upright (not flat) and out of direct sunlight.

If looked after well…. they should last for generations. Will need repainting/oiling/staining every few years after heavy use. Wood is good, but it needs to be loved!

Info on our different finishes -

Fully Painted Boards - We use the highest quality exterior grade paint and several layers of eco varnish. Both are water based and environmentally friendly. These boards are very hardy and can handle lots of water and beach time!

Oiled Boards - The wood on the boards are treated with natural layers of linseed oil and beeswax. This protects the wood and brings out the beautiful woodgrain. Can be re-applied regularly as the wood starts to dry out - this helps keep the board waterproof and gives it a long life! Only the Feather Lite and Heritage Models are oiled

Woodstain Boards - Our woodstain is made up of natural plant oils - The board is also treated with ECO varnish for additional durability. Water repellent and extremely weather and UV resistant. Long lasting finish for years to come - the matt finish looks and feels beautiful.

Naked - The boards are sanded beautifully to show the natural wood grains and colour. They are NOT TREATED - 100% ply. The Naked boards need to be finished with paint, oil or stain before use in the ocean. ontent
